Inexhaustible

Methane, unlike petrol, is an inexhaustible source of energy: it can be produced by hydrogen and carbon monoxide, in addition to fermentation of organic matter and manure.

Methane is thus a renewable energy and is necessary as a substitute for petrol while technologies based upon solar energy and combustible cells further evolve into valid and cost efficient alternatives. Methane de facto makes all petrol based technologies obsolete, which as of today have no reason to persist: the existence of petrol powered vehicles is solely due to strong political and commercial interests, to the detriment of the environment, the community and our wallets.
Methane reserves are sufficient for at least 200 years, considering that the official estimate of 65 doesn’t take into account the possibility of discovering new fields, or of creating methane with industrial processes and using methane hydrates. In the evolutionary chain of motor vehicles, methane thus represents the missing link between the ‘petrol age’ and the ‘combustion cell age’.
